According to a report released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority on Wednesday, the Greek merchant shipping fleet fell 2% in September to 1,871 vessels, following a 2.8% decline compared to the same month last year.

The same report noted that gross tonnage of the Greek Merchant Fleet, for vessels of 100 GRT and over, increased by 1.6% in September 2014 compared to September 2013, while in September 2013 compared to September 2012 it was up by 0.6%.
