Coast Guard: The body of an unidentified man was found in Lesvos – A migrant smuggler was arrested in Rhodes

The resurrection of an unidentified man was found today, Wednesday 23 October, in Lesbos, which was in advanced decay.

As the Coast Guard issued a statement, the authorities of Mytilene were informed by a private citizen of the existence of the body of a man, unidentified, in advanced decomposition, on a rocky shore in the Mystegna sea area of Lesvos.

Immediately, a patrol boat of the L.S.-EL.AKT. and members of the security office of the Port Authority went to the spot, where they located and disengaged the body, with the assistance of a fishing boat and then transported it to the port of Mytilene.

The Central Port Authority of Mytilene, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, has ordered an autopsy at the North Aegean Forensic Service.

Arrest of a migrant smuggler in Rhodes

In addition, on the morning of Tuesday, October 22, a Coast Guard vessel on a scheduled patrol spotted a suspicious speedboat with foreigners on board, in the sea area of Rhodes.

A chase ensued during which the speedboat ran aground on the shore and the occupants fled.

The crew located the 40-year-old foreign trafficker, who was taken to the Port Authority of Rhodes, where he was arrested.
