Jennifer Aniston took to social media to honor her late friend and Friends co-star Matthew Perry, who passed away a year ago at the age of 54. In her post from Monday, October 28, Aniston shared a series of nostalgic photos with Perry, capturing moments from the early days of Friends in the early 1990s, as evidenced by their hairstyles and fashion. Accompanying the photo carousel, she simply wrote “1 year,” alongside a broken heart and dove emoji. Aniston also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation, which continues Perry’s legacy of supporting individuals struggling with addiction.
Perry passed away on October 28, 2023, at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County coroner’s report attributed his passing to an overdose of ketamine, with the official cause of death listed as drowning. In August of this year, five arrests were made in connection with his death as part of an ongoing investigation.
Following Perry’s passing, Aniston and her Friends co-stars Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Courteney Cox paid tribute to him and attended his private memorial service. Aniston, in her initial tribute post, described Perry as a “brother,” expressing deep sorrow and affection for her late friend.
