The arrest was made based on an international warrant from Interpol, as Vietnamese authorities seek her extradition for involvement in a gold smuggling ring.

According to the investigation, the 64-year-old woman transported gold bars illegally between Cambodia and Vietnam, managing a network of accomplices who hid the bars under the tricycles. The smuggling ring took precautions to bypass customs checkpoints, removing any identifying markings from the bars to make detection more difficult.

Following her arrest, the woman was taken to the relevant Prosecutor’s Office.
