Elon Musk: Donated over 250 million dollars to support Trump’s campaign

What the federal records processed by the New York Times show

Newsroom December 6 12:46

Elon Musk donated over 250 million dollars to support Donald Trump’s election campaign, including 20 million dollars to a political action committee (PAC) named after Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the late liberal Supreme Court justice, according to federal records published by the New York Times.

The purpose of this particular committee was to “soften” Trump’s stance on abortion.

Musk’s primary financial support went to America PAC, which he created to back Trump, donating 239 million dollars in cash and in-kind contributions, including three checks of 25 million dollars each in the final weeks of the campaign.

During the election period, Musk also donated 4 million dollars to America PAC shortly after Election Day. In fact, he plans to keep the PAC running, focusing on targeting progressive prosecutors and advancing Trump’s agenda.

Musk also played a role in other Republican efforts, donating 12 million dollars to groups supporting Republican Senate candidates. Federal records show that he may also have funded undisclosed entities with dark money.

According to the New York Times, after the election, Musk became a regular at Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The billionaire businessman is considering the shrinking of the federal government and participates in discussions about staffing decisions for the elected president.

His wealth reached a record amount of 347.8 billion dollars on November 22, thanks to a rise in Tesla’s stock. The value of Musk’s companies has skyrocketed since Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election.
