Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras said on private TV channel ANT1 that the special solidarity levy might be repealed now that the economy stabilizes.

The finance minister reiterated the government’s commitment to reduce taxes provided that the fiscal discipline will still be applied.

Referring to the priorities of the economic policy of the government Mr. Stournaras named countering tax evasion which will result in tax rates reduction and tax burden relief for weak groups.

Speaking, for the elections Mr. Stournaras appeared certain for government’s lead since the world has understood that after the difficulties and enormous sacrifices they had to suffer, now the difficult phase has passed and Greek economy grows fast.
