IMF revises global growth forecast for 2025 slightly upwards to 3.3%

Global inflation expected to fall to 4.2% in 2025 and 3.5% in 2026 - IMF forecasts Eurozone to grow 1% in 2025 from 1.2% in previous report

The International Monetary Fund has revised its forecast for global growth in 2025 upwards, with the release of its World Economic Outlook report today (17/1).

The World Economic Outlook (World Economic Outlook), published on today (17/17/17).
Specifically, it forecasts growth of 3.3% for the current year, up from 3.2% in its October report, while for 2026 it also forecasts growth of 3.3%. Regarding in 2024 it estimates global growth of 3.2%, the same as it predicted in its previous report.

The IMF predicts the eurozone will grow 1% in 2025 and 1.4% in 2026. In October it was forecasting growth of 1.2%.

Regarding the US it “sees” growth of 2.7% in 2025, revised upward by 0.5% from October and to 2.1% in 2026.

It should be noted that the IMF says this global forecast for 2025 and 2026 is below the historical average (2000- 2019) of 3.7%.
