A telephone conversation was held between Chinese PM Li Keqiang and his counterpart Greek PM Antonis Samaras.
According to sources, the Chinese PM welcome the Greek PM’s decision to complete the amicable settlement between the PPA and Cosco agreement, which leads to an additional investment of 230 Million Euros and the creation of 1000 jobs.
Mr. Keqiang also reiterated the Chinese side’s intent to have further investments and Cosco to partake in the privatization efforts.
A particular emphasis was given to the design and development of rapid interconnections between the port of Piraeus and eastern and Central Europe through railroads and roadways in which China is willing to invest in order to make the port the proverbial “port of call” between Asia and Europe.
The two PMs also discussed other investment issues like Greek privatization program and the participation of Chinese companies in the energy and construction projects.
Antonis Samaras thanked Li Keqiang on the continuous trust and practical support of China towards Greece and the Chinese PM reiterated his commitment to the close ties between the two countries.
