Born in Fodele in 1970, Drakos Maris had been in business since 1995 with the operation of OLYMPIA PALACE, in Linoperamata, and was dedicated to serving the public through his business. Since 2006 he had turned to the public sector, with a long career that included important positions in the Municipality of Gazi and later in the Municipality of Malevizi. He had served as Deputy Mayor and Acting Councillor on numerous issues, always with the development and prosperity of the region in mind.

According to Cretalive, police officers investigating the case have video footage from a security camera, which shows Draco Maris, who had health problems, entering the family’s holiday home in Fodele at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and closing the door behind him.

From that moment no one showed up until Wednesday morning, when his wife – who was looking for him – entered the house and found him dead, beaten to death with his shotgun.
