Yet another article referring to the economic situation in Greece compare to  2011, is published by the Spanish newspaper “El Pais”, signed by José Carlos Diez. The article stresses that the Greek public debt, unemployment and poverty have increased.

According to the article, financial crisis has created a social and political crisis, which complicates things since “Greeks are asked to reconfigure all institutions amid the economic downturn, which is equivalent to one changing all four wheels of a car on the go”.

Furthermore, the article refers to the lead of SYRIZA in polls, but how the party is far from an absolute majority, while also describes what would happen in the event of non-payment of debt while increasing public spending, as was suggested by SYRIZA.

The article concludes by stressing that: “a solution can be found at a European level, otherwise Europe will lose credibility and power”.
