A serious incident occurred on the island of Skyros, where a Coast Guard vessel crashed into a rocky islet.

According to eviaonline, the accident took place around 3:30 AM on Friday, when the vessel—for reasons still unknown—collided with the rocky islet south of Skyros, in the Tris Boukes area, where a Hellenic Navy base is also located.

As a result of the impact, one crew member was injured.

A helicopter was dispatched to the scene, transporting the 47-year-old injured crew member to the Hellenic Air Force base in Elefsina, and from there to Attikon Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
