Gov.gr Wallet: “Citizen’s vault” available from today

The vault is now available in an upgraded version on gov.gr – Citizens can access their documents directly from their mobile phones

Newsroom March 21 01:00

Available to citizens in their digital wallet on Gov.gr Wallet from today is the upgraded and more user-friendly version of the “Citizen’s Vault.”

The Vault allows immediate access to documents via mobile phone, according to the design by the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou. The new “Citizen’s Vault,” which is still available via gov.gr, facilitates citizens’ daily lives, enhances transparency, and upgrades communication with the public administration, as it offers new features and improves the user experience.

Specifically, citizens, whether through Gov.gr Wallet or via gov.gr in the “Citizen and Daily Life” section and the “Citizen Information and Identification Documents” subsection, have access to their documents, as well as notifications from the Public Administration. In the “Documents” section, they find all the documents they have issued, such as responsible statements, authorizations, and applications submitted to public bodies, along with the responses they have received. At the same time, they can view and store documents sent to them by public bodies or other citizens.

Notifications, Messages, and Archiving Feature
It is highlighted that citizens have the option to share documents through Gov.gr Wallet in two ways: by sending a link or by scanning a QR code from other devices.

Additionally, in the new “Vault,” citizens will find the “Messages” section. This way, they have access at any time to notifications for important actions, such as consent for issuing a document, displaying a document to an auditing authority, and consent (Consent) for retrieving and sharing data with private entities via Gov.gr Wallet, for example, to enter into a car insurance policy.

It should be noted that citizens can receive real-time notifications (push notifications) in their “Vault,” and for the period that the relevant request remains active, they will find the corresponding notification in the “Messages” section, allowing them to complete the process that requires their consent. Furthermore, they receive notifications for new documents posted by authorities or shared in their “Vault” by other citizens.

Soon, Archiving for Documents and Messages
It is emphasized that soon there will be the ability to archive both “Documents” and “Messages,” which will provide citizens with greater flexibility in organizing and searching for their content. They will be able to manage their archived documents and messages easily by activating the corresponding search filters. Through the new features, they gain a complete overview of their document management. They will now know not only when a document or message was posted in their “Vault” but also when they read it, and they can track the status of consent requests, seeing if and when they accepted or rejected them.

The implementation of the new “Citizen’s Vault” was carried out as part of a collaboration between the gov.gr Unified Digital Gateway Coordination Service of the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance, under the leadership of the General Secretary, Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos, and the National Infrastructure Network for Technology and Research (EDYTE SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
