“I regret that my human reaction created the wrong impressions, I am not a politician, we are moving forward. I am sticking it out and battling through”, stated Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, speaking at the annual general meeting of the Enterprises Federation, referring to the confusing leaks which took place the day before yesterday.
Mr. Stournaras then talked about a new haircut of the Greek debt, saying that during the upcoming decision on debt relief, in the autumn, will restore the EU’s importance and bring it back to the foreground.
“Decisions on debt, will free up resources and help in our prospects for a sustainable growth trajectory”, he said.
The Finance Minister also stated that more than 85% of the improvement required in the government’s balances, has been achieved, while -just as the PM stated- we will be in the clear this year, after six years of recession, stressing that “the reform effort cannot and will not stop”.
