36 fires in the last 24 hours in the country

Thirty-six agroforestry fires have broken out in the country in the last 24 hours, of which 31 were immediately treated at their initial stage, while firefighters are treating five more.

The local investigating agencies, as well as
Teams of the Arson Investigation Department (ICD) are investigating the causes of the fires. The Fire Brigade appeals to citizens to be particularly careful and, in case of fire, for their safety, to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.

It is noted that increased risk (risk category 3) for the outbreak of fire in 17 areas across the country is for tomorrow, Wednesday (10.6.2025), according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.

In particular, there is a high risk of fire in Attica, Kythira, Corinthia, Argolida, Cyclades, Lesvos, Chios, Psara, Samos, and Ikaria. There is also an equal risk for Crete, Karpatho,s and Kasos, as well as for areas of Evia and Skyros, Laconia, and Boeotia.
