Chatraphyllis: Weaker heatwave

He also provided a table showing temperature trends in major cities over the next few days and in Athens the mercury will climb to 40 degrees on Tuesday. According to the meteorologist, the temperature will reach 41 degrees in Serres and Larissa.
“Impressive drop in temperature on Thursday. Within two 24 hours even 13 degrees,” he said.
Marousakis: Gusty north winds coming
Meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis is predicting “quite difficult conditions over the four days Sunday to Wednesday” with the mercury “breaking” even the 40 degrees Celsius barrier.
In a Facebook post, the meteorologist calls for “great caution as this strong heat wave completes its action” as “the collision of the very warm air mass with the colder one that will follow (Wednesday – Thursday), will strengthen the north winds at storm levels, significantly raising fire danger levels (very likely extreme danger locally).”
The temperature reached 40 °C on Saturday 05/07/2025
High temperatures prevailed on Saturday 5 July 2025, especially in the western and northern parts of the country where the mercury reached 39-40 °C in some places.
