Greece is now among the countries with the “strongest” passports in the world for 2025, ranking 5th in the global “Henley Passport Index“, according to recently revised data.

In just six months, our country has moved up one place – from 6th to 5th – while other major powers such as the United States and United Kingdom have retreated. Specifically, the U.S. now ranks 10th, while the U.K. fell to 6th.

As Henley & Partners points out, “the US is now on the ‘borderline’ and in danger of falling out of the top 10 for the first time in the index’s 20-year history,” according to a report by CNBC.

Singapore tops the list

The Singaporean passport remains at the top of the ranking, allowing holders to travel without a visa to 193 countries worldwide. In contrast, passports of the countries ranked 10th offer free access to 182 countries.

India recorded the most progress in the last six months, moving up from 85th to 77th place.

Remarkably, over a ten-year horizon, the United Arab Emirates and China have jumped 34 places each.
