Australia is the new addition to the televised Eurovision contest this year. The contest has been taking place every year for the past 60 years.

It is not the first…geographically misplaced country that enters the Eurovision , but it is certainly the farthest one, since it belongs to a whole different hemisphere.

The abovementioned fact, however, did not seem enough to stop Australians whose excitement for Eurovision was expressed during recent years with special live broadcasts and record audiences.

Thus, Australia will be the 40th country which will partake in the yearly contest taking place on the 19th, 21st and 23rd of May in Vienna, Austria.
