“Jenna was already dead when we went to the sea, I was in a panic,” claimed the 32-year-old woman in her testimony

She denies the charges and asserts that the little girl had already died in an accident at their home, before she placed her in the sea and walked away without looking back

The 32-year-old Algerian woman, accused of murdering her three-year-old daughter, completed her testimony after about five hours.

According to ERT, she denies the charges and claims that the child had already died following an accident at their home when she took her to the sea and left without looking back.

“Jenna and I went into the shower so she could bathe. She asked me for water, and when I went to the kitchen to get it, I heard a thud as if she had fallen. I rushed back and saw her lying on the floor having convulsions. I picked her up and tried to revive her, and she came to a few minutes later,” she reportedly said.

She also claimed that her actions were the result of panic, believing the child was dead—even though, when she was initially taken in by police, she allegedly told them she had realized the child was still warm and her heart was beating: “We went back into the bathroom, and she collapsed a second time. She lost consciousness and no matter what I did, she didn’t come back. I believed Jenna was dead. I panicked, I was scared. In that moment, all I could think was to go to the sea. It was a mistake and I regret it deeply, but she was already dead,” she emphasized.

In her testimony, she reportedly described what followed after she arrived at the kiosk—moments that were captured by a security camera.

“I arrived in Faliro by tram. I bought something at the kiosk and then we went to the beach. The children played at the playground, and then, returning again to the beach, I went into the sea and left Jenna there. I couldn’t bear to turn back and look at her,” she said.
