Which areas in Achaia, Chios and Preveza have no power due to the fires

Crews of the DEDDIE are trying to restore the problems

Newsroom August 14 08:04

Extensive damage to the electricity network in Chios, Achaia, Preveza, and Psara has been caused by the fires. Crews of the DEDDIE are trying to restore the problems.

In Chios, the damage is extensive as more than 150 poles have been destroyed. Technicians estimate that this will take days to fix.

Serious problems are being experienced in the areas of Volissos, Potamia, Pispilounta, Halandra, Afrodisia, Keramos, Ayasmata, Leptopoda, Grigoros, Kurounia, Nennitouria, Agios Gala, Piramas, Parparia, Tripes, Melanios, Phytas, Spartounta, Managros, Lemnos, Limnias, and Agia Markella.
Psara is also without power, because it is supplied by Chios. The transfer of a generator is in progress so that they can be temporarily supplied with power.

In Achaia, without power remain the areas of Sichenes, Magoula, Platani, Panepistemiopolis, Kato and Ano Kastritsi, Voudeni, Bala, Haradros, Vernardeika, Agios Vasileiou, Anthoupoli, and Ampelokipi.
In the southern front, without power remain the parts of Agios Stefanos, Vasilikos Isoma, Therianos, and Achaiko.
In total, 120 technicians of the DEDDIE are operating in the Regional Unit of Achaia, including some contractors.

They are also in full coordination with the fire brigade and local authorities to see where they can operate and where they cannot.

But problems are also being faced in Preveza, where, because of the fire in Gymnotopos, the settlements of Dryofyto, Gymnotopos, Gorgomilos, Kerasona, Panagia, Tsagaropoulos, Kleisoura, Koukletsi, Pantanassa, Agios Georgios, Romi, and parts of Rizovouni have been left without power. 22 technicians of the DEDDIE are operating in the area.
