Fabien Cousteau, grandson of Jacques Cousteau, the most famous diver of all times, will attempt to break one of the oldest record of his grandfather: He will spent 31 days under the sea, dove to Aquarius Reef Base at Florida. Also, his effort is scheduled to be broadcast live!
The mission which is called “Mission 31” aims to raise awareness of the “Aquarius Foundation” but also to honor the 50th anniversary of Jacques Cousteau’s 30-day underwater exploration which was filmed and included in the documentary “World Without Sun” winning the corresponding Oscar in 1964.
Fabien will spend 31 days in the Aquarius Reef Base and he will film his effort in order to create a documentary, while he will also conduct experiments, as the Associated Press mentioned.
The underwater laboratory is located off the coast in Key Largo, Florida.
