Oscar voting closed for the Academy Award members who cast their ballots on Tuesday. Speculation is sky-high and will continue to culminate until dawn on Monday at around 3 a.m. (Greek time) when stars walk the red carpet for the 87th Academy Awards ceremony.
The suspense is great, however Hollywood insiders are aware that a number of nominees have little chance of winning. The frontrunners for best picture are “Birdman” and “Boyhood”, whereas the best director award seems destined for the directors of one of those two films/ Best actor would probably go to Eddie Redmayne in “The Theory of Everything” though Michael Keaton in the title role of “Birdman” also has a chance of winning. Patricia Arquette as the lead in “Boyhood” has a chance though Julianne Moor in “Still Alice” and J.K. Simmons in “Whiplash” also have a chance.
