On August 22, 2025 a 23-year-old woman from Ukraine, Iryna Zarutska, fell victim to a brutal, cold-blooded murder on a train in Charlotte, USA, with authorities arresting the 35-year-old perpetrator.
In new video footage from the security cameras, Zarutska — who had fled to the U.S. with her mother and sister to escape the war in Ukraine — can be seen using her mobile phone.

Suddenly, 35-year-old De’Carlos Brown Jr., who was sitting behind the young Ukrainian woman, is seen pulling a knife from his pocket and stabbing her in the neck.

As shown in the footage released by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), after his lethal attack the 35-year-old calmly walked toward one of the train’s doors, with blood from the victim dripping from his knife.
The killer mumbles as he is leaving “I got that white girl”.

Police arrested the man two minutes after the attack, when the train stopped at the next station.
According to local media, the 35-year-old perpetrator did not know his 23-year-old victim.
It was also revealed that the attacker had a big record of violent assaults.
What is has brought outrage to people, however, is the fact that the Teresa Stokes – a DEI-appointed magistrate judge – had released De’carlos Brown just months before he stabbed Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zaruska because he “promised” her he would return for his court hearing.
Moreover, it has been revealed that Teresa Stokes didn’t even have a Law Degree and isn’t admitted to the North Carolina Bar.

Those who knew Zarutska described her as a “gifted and passionate artist who loved sculpture and clothing design,” adding that she loved animals and often cared for her neighbors’ pets.

It should be noted that none of the legacy media had covered the story until Monday morning September 8th, something that infuriated social media users including Elon Musk who has made a series of posts about the issue.
