Marijuana has been legalized in the state of Alaska.

People 21 years of age or older can legally hold 28 grams of marijuana at home and grow six marijuana plants.

According to the state, private consumption is legal for adults, but continues to be illegal in public spaces.

Alaskan residents have the right to grow their own marijuana, receive or give up to 28 grams of cannabis, but bigger sales without a special permit is prohibited.

Marijuana is illegal on a Federal level, but 23 US States have legalized it for medical use, while 40 have loosened up laws regarding its use.

The state of Alaska follows Colorado and Washington State, while Oregon is expected to follow on July 1st.
