Statement from TEXAN President, Apostolos Mourgos:

“This year’s participation exceeded all expectations. Children have proven that ecological awareness turns into action when there is a system, education, and collective effort. TECHAN continues to invest in cultivating environmental awareness among the next generation through innovative, high-tech recycling systems. Change can start from schools and local communities. Together with Giannis Antetokounmpo, MVP (Most Valuable Protector) & Recycling Ambassador of TEXAN in Greece, we continue to promote environmental awareness nationwide. Because in recycling, we are all a team. We are TECHAN!”

About TEXAN Recycling Centers:

TEXAN’s state-of-the-art recycling centers, with over 500 locations nationwide, served as the backbone for the success of the competitions. Students experienced firsthand the value of recycling at the source and saw how technology can connect with sustainable development.

These competitions are part of TECHAN’s broader corporate social responsibility initiatives, aiming to foster ecological awareness and teamwork for the protection of the environment.

Prizes for Winners:

  • 1st Prize: A 5-day trip for all students of the class with the highest participation, to any European city of their choice.
  • 2nd Prize: A 5-day trip for all students of the class with the second-highest participation, to any Greek city of their choice.
  • 3rd Prize: A smartwatch for all students of the class with the third-highest participation.

Alternative prizes apply if the top two places are won by primary schools or kindergartens.

Also, due to the large participation, an additional prize of a smartwatch will be awarded to the winning class in each municipality (excluding municipalities with the top three winners).

TEXAN’s mission continues: investing in actions that increase citizen participation, especially among the younger generation, aiming to make recycling a natural part of everyday life.
