Welcome to the Acropolis Museum (15 Dionysiou Areopagitou St.) Designed by Bernard Tschumi, the Acropolis Museum’s architectural plan revolves around three concepts: light, movement and a tectonic and programmatic element. The architecture is simple and precise with the mathematical and conceptual clarity of ancient Greek buildings. It opened its doors to the public on June 20, 2009. Nearly 4,000 objects are exhibited over an area of 14,000 square metres.

Opening hours

1 April – 31 October:
Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Last admission: 3:30 p.m.)
Tuesday to Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Last admission: 7:30 p.m.)
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Last admission: 9:30 p.m.)

1 November – 31 March:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Last admission: 4:30 p.m.)
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Last admission: 9:30 p.m.)
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Last admission: 7:30 p.m.)

Holy Week Hours 2015:

– On Friday 10 April, 2015 the Museum will open from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
– On Saturday 11 April, 2015 the Museum will open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– On Easter Day Sunday 12 April, 2015 and on Easter Monday 13 April, 2015 the Museum will be closed.
