The 19-metre Vytina tree lights up the Constitution on 27 November

Newsroom November 19 10:36

Athens is slowly starting to change its pace as the Christmas season approaches and the city’s decorations enter the home stretch.

In a recent interview, the mayor of Athens, Haris Dukas, announced the date when the Christmas tree will be lit this year at Syntagma.

According to what he said, the tree will be lit on November 27.

The tree, which arrives from Vytina Arkadia, will be in the city as early as November 20, so that crews can begin preparations in time.

Ornaments and lighting have already been placed on key roads in the city, with the Municipality of Athens aiming for a festive atmosphere that will culminate with the official lighting of the tree at Syntagma and the start of Christmas events.
