The residents of the settlement of Yperia, in the regional community of Larissa, received an emergency alert from the 112 warning system early on Saturday morning, urging them to move toward the town of Farsala due to the overflow of the Enipeas River. Local authorities are increasingly concerned as the river’s water levels continue to rise dangerously, posing a threat to additional areas.

At the same time, residents in the areas of Lefki, Orfana, Ampelonas, Fyllo and Ilia have also received warning messages from 112. They are advised to remain vigilant and follow the authorities’ instructions regarding safe movement.
Authorities in the Regional Unit of Trikala are similarly on high alert, as days of heavy rainfall have caused river levels to swell. On Friday night, the Pinios River overflowed into its wider riverbed near Valomandri, raising further concern over the continuing severe weather.

The Deputy Regional Governor of Trikala, Ms. Chryssa Dinti, arrived at the affected area shortly after the incident. She informed the Athens–Macedonian News Agency that the situation is being closely monitored by the authorities and does not currently appear to pose an immediate threat. Despite the elevated water levels, she reassured the public that the measures in place are adequate to prevent further problems in the region.
