In Crete farmers and livestock breeders at the Decentralized Administration building

Farmers and livestock breeders from Heraklion, Rethymno, and Lasithi moved to the Decentralized Administration building on the coastal avenue of Heraklion after being removed from “N. Kazantzakis” airport, where they had been protesting since yesterday.

A large number of farmers, beekeepers, and fishermen arrived at the Decentralized Administration building with a motorized procession led by tractors and agricultural vehicles, which lined up along the coastal avenue.

Central and Western Macedonia

Farmers and livestock breeders of Central and Western Macedonia remain steadfast at their blockades, expanding their protests and increasing the number of occupied sites.

Today, the first blockade was set up inside Chalkidiki prefecture at the Nikiti traffic lights in Sithonia, initiated by beekeepers and farmers from the wider area, as decided at a recent general assembly.

Symbolic one-hour blockades begin today at noon at the Derveni junction, the crossroads of the old national road Thessaloniki-Kavala with other important routes, including the road to Nea Santa Kilkis. Farmers from the municipalities of Lagkadas, Volvi, and Oraiokastro are participating.

“Green Traffic Lights – Derveni – Malgara and Chalkidona”

Tractors and agricultural vehicles remain lined up at the “Green Traffic Lights,” a key junction near Macedonia airport.

At yesterday’s meeting in Trilofos, participants from 20 blockades across Northern Greece formed a coordination committee, which noted that dialogue with the Prime Minister and government members is not excluded but would happen under conditions. They also decided to escalate protests with blockades at critical infrastructures such as the Kalohori refinery, the Central Macedonia Regional Administration building, and the port of Thessaloniki.

Farmers from Delta municipality and the wider area remain firmly at Malgara toll station on the Athens-Thessaloniki highway, blocking the Athens-bound lane since December 1, while the Thessaloniki-bound lane opens and closes periodically. Today, they plan a two-hour blockade of the Thessaloniki-bound lane from 18:30.

Farmers will also conduct a two-hour blockade at Chalkidona from noon on both lanes of the old Thessaloniki-Edessa national road. The blockade point has been reinforced by farmers from various parts of Pella.

Imathia – Pella – Pieria

Farmers from Alexandria have blocked the lane towards Veria on the Egnatia motorway at the Niselio junction indefinitely since December 3. They allow passage only for emergency vehicles. Farmers and livestock breeders from Krya Vrysi, Pella, have joined with their tractors and vehicles.

Another blockade is set up at the Kouloura junction, with farmers planning a symbolic two-hour blockade of bypass roads today. The restriction of bypass roads significantly slows passage to Veria, especially because of the blockade at the Niselio junction in Imathia, where the lane towards the city is closed indefinitely.

Tomorrow, participants at the Kouloura blockade plan a motorized procession to the ELGA (Greek Agricultural Insurance Organization) building in Veria, with further actions to be decided in daily general assemblies.

There are also blockades at the Gypsochori junction (Pella) on the Thessaloniki-Edessa national road, and farmers from Vegoritida and Mount Kaimaktsalan lined up tractors at the “Chain” location at Drosia Pella junction.

Producers in Skydra are also protesting and may symbolically close the customs office today.

A new agricultural blockade was set up yesterday at the Naoussa Railway Station junction, where farmers from the United Agricultural Federation of Imathia strengthened their presence.

Farmers from Edessa have set a blockade on the ring road at “Fanaria,” usually blocking from noon until 18:00, forcing traffic to pass through the town.

In Pieria, farmers from Aiginio have set their own blockade at the town entrance and conduct symbolic blockades on the old Thessaloniki-Katerini national road.

Drama and Kavala

Farmers plan a four-hour blockade at the Kokkinochoria-Prosotsani junction, a key connection point in the region leading to the Greek-Bulgarian border, from noon today.

In Kavala, three blockades are in place at Chrysoupoli, the Ancient Theater of Philippi, and the Moustheni junction on the Egnatia motorway.

An indefinite blockade continues at the Kerdyllia junction on the Egnatia motorway Kerdyllia-Serres by farmers and livestock breeders from Serres. Traffic passes only through bypass roads.

Western Macedonia

Farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers remain firmly at the blockade at Filota junction on the Kozani-Florina vertical axis of the Pan-European Corridor X.

Farmers and livestock breeders of Western Macedonia remain at the Mpala Siatista blockade on the Egnatia motorway, reinforced daily. Passenger and truck traffic uses the bypass on the old Kozani-Kastoria national road.

Customs offices in Northern Greece

Farmers continue long blockades today at the customs offices of Evzoni and Niki, on the Greece-North Macedonia border, and at Promachonas and Exochi on the Greece-Bulgaria border, per general assembly decisions. Blockades affect both entry and exit points, mainly for international freight trucks.

Specifically, a four-hour blockade (until 16:00) of Evzoni customs is underway by farmers and livestock breeders. The blockade started December 1, involving producers from Paionia municipality, as well as colleagues from Giannitsa (Pella) and Kilkis, with representatives from other workers’ unions present daily.

At Promachonas customs (Greece-Bulgaria border), an eight-hour blockade (until 20:00) for trucks only is underway and reinforced continuously. Cars and buses pass freely.

Farmers from Nevrokopi Drama, coordinated with colleagues at Promachonas customs, block eight hours (until 20:00) at their blockade 500 meters from Exochi customs, Greece-Bulgaria border. During blockades, entry and exit of all trucks is prohibited, while passenger cars and tourist buses use bypass roads.

Farmers conduct a four-hour blockade starting at 10:00 at Niki customs, Greece-North Macedonia border.

Central Greece

Farmers of Central Greece expand blockades, moving new tractors to gathering points and escalating protests.

According to decisions by farmers blocking Bralos junction in Fthiotida, yesterday’s attempt to block all side roads with tractors and physical presence will be repeated, though timing is not yet announced. Protests will escalate from tomorrow through Saturday.

Similar moves occur at Atalanti blockade. At Kastro Voiotias, farmers who set a blockade start blockades, with details pending.

In Thebes, farmers continue blocking the junction, while in Domokos, both the old national road and access to the E65 highway close periodically.

Farmers in Evia also act similarly from today, planning occupation of public buildings in Chalkida, including the Regional Unit of Evia building.

Due to blockades, the Athens-Lamia route now takes more than twice as long, approaching 4.5 hours.

Thessaly

Farmers continue strongly today, Tuesday, at the Nikaia blockade. Hundreds of tractors are lined up; the Athens-Thessaloniki highway is closed in both directions.

Farmers from Delta Pineios blocked the old Larissa-Thessaloniki national road near Pyrgetos tolls. Most are kiwi producers who lost 2,000 trees due to storm Daniel and many remain unpaid. The area was also hit by livestock disease, causing many farmers to lose animals without compensation. They demand a government plan for the primary sector to stay on their farms, as their products are exported to the U.S.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10, farmers from Thessaly’s three major blockades will join forces with Magnesia fishermen to block Volos port.

Farmers in western Thessaly remain at blockades on the E65 highway—farmers from Karditsa on the E65 and farmers from Trikala at Loggos tolls, also on the E65.

Peloponnese and Aetolia-Acarnania

The large Patras ring road remains closed due to farmer protests, from K1 port junction to Ovria junction, diverting traffic to local roads.

Farmers and livestock breeders in Western Greece’s regions, participating in blockades in Aetolia-Acarnania, Achaia, and Ilia prefectures, plan to escalate protests.

In Aetolia-Acarnania, the Antirrio-Ioannina highway remains blocked at Aggelokastro tolls near Agrinio. A coordination committee meeting is planned tonight at 8 pm with local organizations.

The committee also called for a protest tomorrow, Wednesday, at 11 am at the Rio-Antirrio bridge tolls, which will be opened for four hours.

Farmers and livestock breeders in Nafpaktia, Dorida, Messolonghi, and Vonitsa protest at blockades on Mornos and Evenos bridges, as well as the Amvrakia highway.

Farmers and livestock breeders from Aigialeia set a blockade at Selinountas bridge in Aigio, with daily short closures of the Patras-Corinth highway.

In Ilia, the blockade is at Pyrgos junction, with daily short closures of the Patras-Pyrgos highway; tolls near Pyrgos reopened Monday night.
