With 159 “yes” and 136 “no” votes, the 2026 budget passed the Parliament

A total of 295 Members voted

The 2026 budget proposed by the government has become law, having been approved by 159 members of parliament. A total of 136 MPs voted against it.

It is noted that SYRIZA MP Nina Kassimati broke ranks by voting in favor of the expenditures of the Ministry of National Defense, while her party voted against them. Defense spending was approved by 216 MPs, with 75 voting against.

The three additional MPs who supported the budget alongside the 156 MPs of New Democracy were independents Konstantinos Floros, Charalampos Katsivardas, and Giorgos Aspiotis.
