The New Year is expected to arrive with mild weather for the season and without significant rainfall across most of Greece. According to the latest forecasts, temperatures on New Year’s Day will be close to normal levels, and no major weather disturbances are anticipated.
Meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas notes that the transition into 2026 is expected to be calm in weather terms. While atmospheric conditions over Europe and the Mediterranean reflect a typical winter pattern with some variability, current data do not indicate extreme phenomena.
From Saturday, December 27, through the end of the year, the weather will remain generally winter-like, with alternating cloud cover and sunny intervals. Winds are not expected to cause problems, and any local rainfall will be limited and mostly weak.
Temperatures will stay close to seasonal averages, without strong cold spells, particularly in lowland and coastal areas.
New Year’s Day Forecast
