A new survey for the Athens weekly “To Vima” revealed that more than half of Greeks are ready to leave the country if they find better jobs abroad.
Accordinng to the survey, 55% of Greeks would consider leaving the country for better jobs abroad. Destinations most preferred are the UK (18%), Switzerland (13%) and the US (12%).
In 2014, 341,334 Greek citizens created CVs specifically for applying jobs in other countries in the EU. Most of these were people aged from 21 through to 35 years of age.
Only 35.9% said they are adamant about staying in Greece, whereas 16.8% think that emigration is highly likely.
The number of people ready to leave the country is even higher than that of Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK.
