Fidan: Turkish airspace violation is unacceptable

"The missiles that headed towards Turkish airspace did not come from Iran and added that a comprehensive investigation will be carried out into the incident," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said

Newsroom March 10 01:52

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing that any violation of Turkish airspace is unacceptable and that Ankara will continue to take all necessary measures to protect it. Fidan also stressed that all parties should avoid actions that could undermine regional security or endanger civilians.

For his part, Araghchi stated that the missiles that entered Turkish airspace did not originate from Iran and that a thorough investigation into the incident would be conducted. Meanwhile, the Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed that ballistic munitions fired from Iran were neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean. Parts of the munitions landed in uninhabited areas of Gaziantep province, with no casualties reported. The ministry reiterated Turkey’s commitment to regional stability and good-neighborly relations while warning that it will respond decisively to any threats to its territory or airspace.
