A card for all transactions over 70 euros, a special “stay” tax between 3% and 5% to hotels rated with 3 stars and over, and a 3% tax increase on luxurious living are some of the measures to be presented by PM Alexis Tsipras to Thursday’s cabinet meeting, which will also be included in the multi-bill that will be tabled within the next few days.
The financial team is trying to complete the measures list which will be presented on the 11th of May’s Eurogroup in order to “unlock” the sought-after tranche.
The regulations aim at increasing revenues of VAT in order to satisfy the lenders’ request to raise VAT rates.
