The Secretary of Finance of the Russian Federation has called on Greece to partake in the new development bank created by the so-called BRICs countries — China, Russia, Brazil, India and South Africa.

Greece’s severe financial and economic woes are the object of negotiations between the Greek government and the partners-cum-lenders. The Russian official said that if Greece enters into the BRICS coalition, it will allow the country to fund a series of developmental works.

Speaking on Greco-Russian relations, the Russian official said they can be used for the development of various sectors, using the Russian ruble as the coin to pay for goods and services.
