New light on the past of the former weightlifter accused of the death of Myrto in Kefalonia is shed by photos he had posted on social media showing him with banknotes and a weapon.
The 26-year-old admitted in his statement that he was the one who bought drugs twice for them to use in the room where 19-year-old Myrto was also present, and claimed that “I thought she had suffered an epileptic seizure.” Meanwhile, MEGA published three photos of the weightlifter showing him holding banknotes and a weapon.
According to the same information, in one image the 26-year-old appears holding a bundle of banknotes, while in another he is shown with 100-euro and 500-euro notes.

In yet another photo, the 26-year-old former weightlifter poses with a friend while holding a weapon.

It is recalled that protothema.gr had published a video revealing the former weightlifter’s involvement in another serious incident that took place in 2024 in Kefalonia. The footage clearly shows the moment when three individuals lift a police patrol car in order to move it and gain access to a seized vehicle. Among them is the former weightlifter.
Specifically, the incident had taken place on April 3, 2024, when a group of about 20 people appeared outside a local police station on the island. Taking advantage of the element of surprise, as there was only one guard on duty at the time, the perpetrators entered the building and headed toward the area where the immobilised vehicle they were seeking was being held. After moving the patrol car that was blocking their way, reportedly using a spare key, they started the seized vehicle and left the scene.
He carried her unconscious in his arms
The 26-year-old weightlifter, who has been arrested along with two other individuals for his involvement in the case, is seen in a security camera video from a hotel carrying Myrto in his arms, with the 19-year-old appearing to be unconscious.
The videos also record, among other things, the moment the young woman arrives at the hotel and the moment she is taken outside it, appearing to have lost consciousness.
Complaint that he put a “rape pill” in a woman’s drink
It is also recalled that a young woman, after Myrto’s death, went to the authorities and reported that she suspects the 26-year-old former athlete had slipped the so-called “rape pill” into her drink.
Specifically, the 31-year-old woman reported an incident that allegedly took place in the summer of 2022. As she described, that night she had gone alone to a café-bar in Argostoli to have a drink, as she had recently ended a long-term relationship.
After consuming one or two drinks, everything suddenly went blank, and the only thing she remembers is waking up the next day at her home with complete amnesia.
As she stated: “The next day I was informed by people close to me that, while I was at the bar, I had been approached by a young man named (she mentions the former athlete), whom I only knew by sight, and after a short time I started dancing with him and kissing him, actions I would never have done myself.”
“On the following day when I woke up, as I mentioned before, I remembered nothing at all, not even how I got home with my car, but because I only felt dizziness and had no other symptoms of illness, nor any injuries or other signs of abuse, I did not report the incident anywhere, not even to my parents. However, hearing today about the death of a young girl involving the above-mentioned person, I considered that I should report the incident,” she concluded.
