Famous beaches all over Greece, sea coasts which are part of the national wealth of the country and support the Greek tourism or are the last paradise on earth are to be sold off along with other state properties to reduce the public debt. From the total idle of the government regarding the utilization of public property we have move to the exact opposite end and now the government will sell of the most famous beaches of Greece.
The lenders seeking to get their money back imposed, and our country implemented, a law (Article 14 Law 3986/2011) according to which by buying coastal property the new owner can guarantee exclusive use of the seashore and the beach for 50 years. Therefore, the Constitution that prohibits the sale of seashore is bypassed providing the possibility to exploit coastal areas.
