The orange Porsche 911 GT3 RS, worth more than €350,000, and the black Lamborghini Urus, valued at around €300,000, were not merely luxury vehicles. They were regularly showcased on social media, often photographed in front of luxury villas in Giannouli, Larissa. Today, photos and videos of the two high-end cars—together worth well over half a million euros—are in the hands of analysts from Greece’s Organized Crime Directorate, commonly referred to as the “Greek FBI,” and form part of the extensive investigation surrounding the Vilanakis family case.
According to information obtained by Proto Thema, analysts from the Anti-Extortion Unit have collected dozens of social media posts linked to family members and individuals in their close circle. The material depicts a lifestyle that includes luxury homes, expensive vehicles, travel, and displays of wealth. These elements are being evaluated as part of the broader investigation into the alleged illegal activities.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is considered one of the most advanced and expensive models produced by the German automaker, essentially designed for track use. Likewise, the Lamborghini Urus is among the world’s most expensive SUVs, combining supercar performance with luxury amenities. Both vehicles appear in photographs collected by authorities, many of which were taken outside the villas that are now at the center of the investigation.
The investigation, however, goes far beyond assets and property. According to reliable sources, at least 15 new complaints have recently been filed against members of the family and people associated with them, a development that reportedly accelerated the operation carried out by the Organized Crime Directorate. The same sources indicate that additional complaints are expected in the coming period, as more individuals appear willing to provide testimony to authorities.

Particular attention is being paid to two individuals whose relationships with family members are under examination. The first is a police officer who, according to reports, maintained a close friendship with one of the Vilanakis family members. Authorities reportedly possess photographs and social media posts showing them together at social events and on trips, including visits to Mykonos. Investigators are examining the extent and nature of their relationship.
The second individual is related to a senior officer in the Hellenic Police. In this case as well, contacts and relationships with family members are being documented and assessed by investigators, although no criminal involvement has been established so far.
Also at the center of the investigation is a woman alleged to have played a key role in the reported gold sovereign coin fraud scheme. According to the case file, she appears at several critical points in the operation, and her activities are being closely examined by analysts seeking to map the entire network of individuals involved.
At the same time, authorities are investigating the origin of funds connected to high-value real estate. One property that has attracted attention is a luxury seaside apartment featured in Instagram posts. The images show a high-end residence with large glass surfaces, underfloor heating, premium construction, and panoramic sea views. Investigators estimate its value at several hundred thousand euros and are examining whether it may have been purchased through a third party rather than being registered in the name of its actual user.
Meanwhile, investigators are expanding their inquiries to include people within the family’s broader social circle who appear in photos, videos, and social media posts collected by analysts. Authorities are attempting to determine whether these relationships were purely social or whether they had some connection to the activities under investigation.

“The case is far from being considered complete,” a source with knowledge of the investigation stated. Officials at the Organized Crime Directorate believe that the evidence gathered so far represents only part of the overall picture and that further revelations, additional complaints, and new persons of interest may emerge in the coming months. For investigators, this case appears to be far from over.
