A total of six violations of Greek national airspace by armed Turkish F-16s were recorded on Tuesday, June 16, in the Aegean Sea, according to data from the Hellenic National Defense General Staff.
Specifically, two formations of Turkish fighter jets—consisting of four F-16s—as well as one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR), bringing the total number of Turkish aircraft to five.
Of the four F-16s, two were armed.
According to official data, there were also four violations of air traffic regulations in the Athens FIR, two of which were attributed to the F-16s and the other two to the UAV.
