The wildfire continues to rage in Oreokastro
- A major wildfire broke out at midday in Oreokastro, near Thessaloniki, prompting Greece’s 112 emergency alert system to issue an evacuation order for the village of Liti.
- A body of an unidentified person has been discovered in the forested area of Derveni, where the fire started.
- A woman was rescued from Liti and taken to hospital with burns to her hands, face and thighs.
- The flames are approaching the first homes, while 105 firefighters, supported by three ground teams from the 2nd EMODE, 31 fire engines, eight aircraft, and three helicopters, are battling the blaze.

Fire Service spokesperson: The body found belongs to a man
According to Fire Service spokesperson Giannis Artopios, the body discovered belongs to a man and was found between the forested area and the village of Liti.

40-year-old woman burned in the Derveni wildfire admitted to Hippokrateio Hospital
A 40-year-old woman who suffered burns in the Derveni wildfire will remain hospitalized in the Surgical Department of Hippokrateio Hospital in Thessaloniki.
According to reports, she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. She sustained burns mainly to her hands, as well as to her thigh and neck. She is in stable condition and her life is not in danger.
