Beautiful Mytilene

The idyllic island is fast becoming a mecca for refugees

Newsroom June 16 09:13

Mytilene is an ancient city founded in the 11th century BC, the capital of the North Aegean region. The island is known for its sandy beaches, crystal clear water and antiquity. The island has been associated with lesbianism due to ancient poetess Sappho and that is one reason why it changed its name from Lesbos to Mytilene. The locals have eyed its notorious reputation as a lesbian hotspot with disdain, but more recently there have been greater problems for the locals to deal with. CLICK HERE.
