A minor was taken to hospital in Ioannina after consuming alcohol during a family celebration, while a relative was arrested in connection with the incident.

According to a statement by the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the case was investigated after the Ioannina Sub-Directorate for Crime Investigation and Detection was notified that, on the evening of July 12, a minor had been admitted to a local hospital in a state of intoxication.

The investigation found that the minor had consumed alcohol while attending a celebratory gathering at the home of a relative.

The relative voluntarily appeared before the competent police authorities and was arrested on charges of endangering a minor.

The case file will be forwarded to the Ioannina Public Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance.
