Well-known blogger Perez Hilton was rushed to hospital after police forced entry into his home following a livestream he had been broadcasting on TikTok, during which he appeared covered in blood.

The intervention came after dozens of calls flooded the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office in Florida from users who had watched Hilton’s livestream, in which he was seen self-harming with a knife.

In the TikTok footage, which is too graphic to broadcast, Hilton is seen holding a knife and cutting himself on the neck and in other areas. He is covered head to toe in blood and can be heard crying out in pain. According to reports from foreign media outlets, he was in the throes of a psychotic episode at the time; his three children, fortunately, were not at home.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said authorities were mobilised after dozens of calls came in from concerned viewers who had been watching the broadcast live.

When officers arrived at the property, they found Hilton alone inside. Alongside firefighters and paramedics, they extracted him from the house and rushed him to hospital, where he received emergency treatment.
