A wildfire broke out on Friday afternoon (August 7) in a forested area near Ermakia, in the regional unit of Kozani, northern Greece.

Firefighting efforts involve 22 firefighters, six fire engines, and two specialized ground crews from the 5th and 8th EMODE (Special Forest Firefighting Units). Volunteers have also joined the operation, while three firefighting aircraft are carrying out aerial water drops.

Water tankers provided by local authorities are assisting the firefighting operation.
