Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued stern warnings to the United States, arguing that the outcome of the American elections and shifts in the political balance of power will not change Washington’s hostile stance toward Tehran. At the same time, he threatened retaliation on a much larger scale in the event of further US military attacks against his country.
Khamenei expressed the view that changes in the political parties and factions in power in the United States have no substantial impact on American policy toward Iran. He also questioned Washington’s credibility as a negotiating partner.
“If there are still those who harbor even the slightest hope that the behavior of the hegemonic system could change through shifts between political parties or factions, or who believe that by making concessions to the United States they could persuade it to abandon its hostile stance toward the Iranian people, they are gravely mistaken,” he said.
At the same time, Iran’s Supreme Leader warned that any resumption of US military operations against his country would provoke a much stronger response from Iran.
In a message, he referred to Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz and its strikes against US military bases across the wider region, presenting them as retaliation for Washington’s military actions.
“If such acts of aggression are repeated, the response will be on a much broader scale,” he warned.
Khamenei also argued that recent developments had exposed the limits of American military power, emphasizing the need to further strengthen his country’s defensive capabilities.
“The only way to achieve absolute deterrence is to continue pursuing the strategy of an ‘ever-stronger Iran’ through comprehensive development,” he said, stressing the need to continue the country’s strategy of strengthening its capabilities.
