According to the French News Agency, six people, including a 7-year old child and three civilians were killed in ongoing clashes between Turkish special forces and Kurdish PKK fighters in two separate incidents in SE Turkey on Thursday.
According to eyewitness accounts, smoke was billowing above the town of Cizre near the Turkish-Syrian border, after PKK fighters launched an attack on a Turkish military base. The result was three dead and seven injured. Nearly 300 km to the east in the city of Yuksekova, near the borders between Turkey, Iran and Iraq fighting continued through the night, with 3 more people losing their lives.
Official Turkey has come under heightened criticism by the Kurds for attacking their forces in northern Iraq, for instance, while “looking the other way” at the activity of the ISIS jihadi barbarians.
