Albanian killer of 19-year-old Alkis charged with voluntary manslaughter

Police have also arrested possible accomplices

The Prosecutor has the accused 23-year-old Albanian hooligan with voluntary manslaughter for the death of the 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos in Charilaou, Thessaloniki.

More specifically, he was charged with voluntary manslaughter through culpable negligence, attempted recurrent manslaughter, aggravated assault, possession of weapons, and use of weapons by dangerous means.

He was referred to the Investigator to present his defence deposition, from whom he is expected to ask for a deadline.

Meanwhile, the accomplices of the 23-year-old have been identified. According to police sources, the officers of the Homicides Division have identified the perpetrators of the murderous attack, who were with the accused in the car. As thesstoday.gr writes, the role of the visual material from the security cameras in the neighbourhood where the attack took place proved to be crucial, as well as the subsequent utilisation of informants in the football fan clubs, who believe gangs of criminals who have infiltrated the Fans’ Associations are using football as a cover to continue their criminal activities, which include thefts, beatings, and murders.

In the case of Alkis’s killers, they are football hooligans – like the main accused – who have a heavy criminal record of robbery and theft.
