An underwater museum in Mexico

One of the largest and most ambitious underwater artificial art attractions in the world

CNN brings to light new spectacular images from the National Marine Park of Cancun in Mexico, an art project called The Silent Evolution.

This is an underwater sculpture installation in the National Marine Park of Cancun, including over four hundred permanent life-size sculptures. One of the largest and most ambitious underwater artificial art attractions in the world aiming to demonstrate how art interacts with environmental science.

The creator of the world’s first underwater sculpture park, Jason de Caires Taylor, has gained international recognition for this unique work and, as he has said, combines his love for sculpture with his love for sea.

Each of the sculptures is made from specialized materials used to promote coral life. The total installations occupy an area of over 420sq metres of barren seabed and weighing over 200 tons.
