A new campaign by Marketing Greece and the Athens International Airport invites visitors to the Greek capital to “become” Athenians through a promotion campaign titled “I’m an Aθenian Too.” According to the campaign, all that tourists need to do to become Athenians is to take a photo, add a stamp and then share it.
There are three steps to becoming an “Aθenian”:
1. Download the application from www.imanathenian.com to your cell phone.
2. Select a photo from your favorite spot in Athens and add a stamp that sums up what being an Athenian means to you.
3. Share this on social media with the hashtag #ImAnAthenian.
The owners of the 100 best photographs will be asked to share their story, whereas the three most inspirational stories of what it means to be Athenian will get to enjoy unique holidays for two in Athens.
This campaign follows a successful campaign by the Athens International Airport that had been launched in October 2013, titled “PerhaΨ You’re an Aθenian too” that was aimed at boosting Greece’s image as a top travel destination.
