Athlete, 21, suddenly dies of a heart attack in Thessaloniki

He is the latest of young athletes who have suddenly died of heart-related issues

A young basketball player in Thessaloniki has suddenly died of a heart attack.

The basketball player Vassilis Christodoulou passed away at the age of 21, after suffering a heart attack at his home. He played in the “Knights of Charilaou” team.

The club said goodbye to him with the following announcement, stating that everything is now on the back burner: “After the sudden death of Vassilis Christodoulou, everything is on the back burner… for the time being the team’s page will not be updated…”.
