Mattel released their new children’s book, titled: “Barbie: I can be a computer technician”, which sparked an outrage.

The book supports that a woman needs the help of a man to “write” programming code. Amazon reviewers consider this sexist and extremely offensive.

The company publicly apologized for the book, writing on their Facebook page that Barbie’s image in the book does not represent the company’s view on women, while it promised that all the books it will publish from now on will portray a strong female character.
